 You may have heard that the Greeks can’t make nice wine. Anyone who claims to be an expert says so! However, when the famous wine magazine ‘Decanter’ published their ‘Best Wine List’ in 2010 there were no fewer than eighteen Greek wines included. Four of these were honored with the prestigious ‘Decanter Award’
While the ‘experts’ argue it out and the archaeologists dig for more evidence to prove beyond any doubt that wine was in fact invented on the island of Crete, why don’t you join us and make up your own mind about Greek wine.….and yes of course it involves drinking it!
Alpha to Omega offers you a great way to learn about both Cretan and Greek wines. You’ll not only have the opportunity to taste some of the best wines ever produced both locally and from other regions of the country, but at the same time visit one of the finest wine cellars in the area, located in the old town of Rethymno.
Exclusively selected culinary dishes to compliment each wine will be served throughout. Argiro Petraki, one of Greece’s foremost leading wine experts will be on hand with invaluable information and will happily assist you with your wine selection, should you decide to buy a bottle or two…or three?
